This is What She's Saying
Today is my favorite holiday of the year. Even though I usually work through holidays, the Fourth of July is the United States’ most important nondenominational holiday, trumping the likes of Thanksgiving, Columbus Day, etc. You see, without an independent United States of America, none of these other holidays could be celebrated. And more importantly, the idea of independence has always resonated with me, even if I lead my life somewhat to the contrary.
I appreciate the struggle our forefathers dealt with to put an idea into motion; and like any good idea, it met with an extraordinary amount of resistance. This holiday gives me cause to pause and reflect on all ideas that were once just that, and how through perseverance and a steady hand these ideas blossomed into real things, tangible things that people like me can understand, experience and possibly even learn from.
Corp, Inc. is that kind of idea. Heck, every single person on this Earth came from two people who had an idea, intended or not. Excuse the profanity, but I feel very strongly about this, and I guess what I’m trying to say is, I have ideas too. So, that’s why I’m taking this day off – to work on my music and see if I can push it a little farther down the path then where it was situated yesterday. However, please don’t ask me if I’m going to document any of this via audio or video; although I introduced the possibility here and here, I still feel I have much to “hammer out” before showing you any “hammer-ons.”
At any rate, grab your beach towels, your coolers and most importantly, your music playback devices and have a great day!
P.S. Oh, and something else that I forgot to document – after speaking with my immediate superior with regard to the possibility of acquiring the honorary title of “Brandividual,” he informed that because Corp, Inc. does not officially recognize this term (as of yet), this would be an impossibility.
