The Hardest Working Man at Avant-Guard

The Hardest Working Man at Avant-Guard

Approximately one week ago, I received an email in my personal email inbox from a one Eric Krusini.  He wanted to inform me that his company, Avant-Guard Advertising Agency, was trying to gauge my interest for the position of Junior Service Manager. As stated in an earlier post, I would never leave Corporation Incorporated, even if the opportunity seemed to be a better one. Why? Because I have a great sense of loyalty in all phases of my life, especially to the company that furnishes my paychecks. However, in a time where simply being polite is seen as a virtue, I obliged Mr. Krusini and followed the directions set forth in his email.

My assignment was to examine the GIF above and determine what could be done to improve the message. Of course, the word “to” and “an” were missing, and “business” was spelled incorrectly; however, in a larger sense, the idea that “everybody” can apply is the real mistake. After pointing this out to Mr. Krusini in a written response, he immediately replied with an offer for the aforementioned position. Here was a competent man at what seems to be a reputable company offering me employment, sight unseen! Obviously, I was extremely flattered by the proposal.

Needless to say, I bluntly told Mr. Krusini that I could not vacate my current position. It’s a shame that I don’t have any  connections in the human resources department, as it would seem Mr. Krusini would make a welcome addition here at Corporation, Incorporated.

In personal news, my guitar playing has been quite an anchor for me! I can really feel myself making progress. I think that if I can acquire sea legs in front of a camera, I would be able to share my rapidly improving guitar technique. And who knows? I might even try and sing a few notes!

AMENDED 8/9/10: Avant-Guard has become yet another victim of the recession. My condolences to all that were directly (and indirectly) affected by its demise.
