Brandividual – noun

1. An individual whose personality and/or persona is inexorably entwined between life experience and their employer’s image and/or identity.

By starting this web log, I was realizing this concept for myself, without giving much thought to what I was actually doing. I find it interesting that other individuals have created this so-called “conundrum” for themselves, but I am quite sure that none of those mentioned in the article above will come to question their decision while moving forward in this arena. In this new age of communication, it would seem that even though everything is being recorded, it is precisely for this reason that the sheer load of information will be rendered worthless. If one doesn’t make light of the fact that they were once an agent of a former employer, most likely, no one will remember.

If it came to pass that I would leave Corp, Inc. for greener pastures (I shudder as I type), I would not look back with regret. Instead, I would show my new colleagues how I chose to live my life, how I gave it all I had to the organization that provided me with the necessary tools to lead a productive and healthy life. I however, can only postulate, because I will never leave. Ever.

So, in sum, I have embraced my new title as “Brandividual.” I will check with my immediate supervisor tomorrow to see if this title can somehow be bestowed upon me in an honorary fashion. Just to be clear, I’m not looking for any type of recognition; I simply want to see how many other employees will follow suit and join me in exalting the greatness that is our collective consciousness.
